Arrest Made in Connection with Shooting Death of Indo-Canadian Teen

Brampton: An 18-year-old Indo-Canadian, Preetpaul Singh, is in custody, and an arrest warrant has been issued for a 16-year-old in connection with the shooting death of Nishan Thind, an Indian-origin teen in Brampton, Ontario.

Thind, 18, succumbed to gunshot wounds on December 19, 2023. Singh faces charges of accessory after the fact, while the 16-year-old, the alleged shooter, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for manslaughter.

The shooter’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The investigation is ongoing, and information is sought from the public to aid homicide detectives.
